Hello. So, this is
new… first ever blog post. AGHH!! Hopefully it’ll go okay.
I wanted to talk
about wealth. Now, not in a money respect but our blessings and things we
should value. There is a fabulous song called Preacher by OneRepublic. There
are a lot of great lyrics in this song that have amazing meanings but one fits
in perfectly with this topic.
“He was a million
miles from a million dollars but you could never spend his wealth”
Now isn’t that just
brilliant?! I’ll give you a minute to really think about it…

Okay, minutes up! So
it’s basically saying he doesn’t have a lot of money but what wealth he does
have, you can’t take away from him. He doesn’t class wealth as how much money
he has or material things but in his life, health, relationships with people,
happiness, what he believes in etc.
Now don’t get me
wrong, I’m not one of those ‘money can’t buy you happiness’ people. I believe
money, once you have enough to not worry about bills and have extra for some
nice things, can’t buy true or eternal happiness. If you buy a new DVD, you
will be happy when you watch it and happy that you now own it but it won’t make
you happy with everything in life nor will the happiness it brings you last.
That was a bad analogy but you get what I’m trying to say; material things are
only temporary.
Now, I should
probably go into how to find happiness, be comfortable with what you have and
so on but a) that would take a long time b) I’m not capable of giving good
advice in that area and c) this is more of something to think about than
something that is helpful.
